Description
Stores person/Warehouse Operative/logistics coordinator required for a world leading defence and aerospace company based out of Boscombe down near Amesbury for a 12 month initial contract. This role requires knowledge of NATO and MOD parts numbers, people with armed forces experience of defence experience are highly desirable.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Goods receiving/control the receipt of goods, materials parts and assemblies from internal and external (MoD) sources.
* Storage/to ensure all goods, materials, parts and assemblies are stored in a controlled, compliant to specifications manner, to retain fitness for purpose and maintaining:/identification, traceability, location record, shelf life rotation, accuracy of stock held volume and value.
* Playing an active part in the pursuance of continuous improvement relating to the methods and processes employed through regular liaison with Project team personnel.
* Issues to supply goods, materials, components and assemblies to internal and external customers on time, at the right location, complaint with specifications at the lowest cost possible.
* Participate in duty call/out rosta/work out of normal hours including night shift patterns if required.
Essential skills and competencies
* Good understanding of basic health and safety at work requirements
* Driving licence/experience of driving large vans.
* Experience of electronic asset management systems.
* Understanding of NATO stock/part numbers.
* Understanding of MoD asset tracking/stores system and IT (MJDI).
Desirable Skills and competencies
* Previous experience of working in a military logistics organisation
* Forklift truck licence
* Sc clearance
