EMEA Corporate Planning - Investment Banking - London

One of the world's largest financial institutions are recruiting for a Corporate Planning Officer to join the Corporate Planning Team, which is part of the Chief Financial Office. The role is based in London, initially a 6 month rolling contract. The role is highly varied and challenging and will involve working across all of Corporate Planning's non-reporting responsibilities, including:
Legal Entity and Regional Strategy and Planning
  • Ongoing definition and implementation of the EMEA Legal Entity Strategy
  • Support for major cross-line of business projects and initiatives within the region
  • Communication of the EMEA strategy to local regulators, working across businesses and support functions and with the EMEA regional executive team

Market and Competitor Insight:
  • Competitor performance analysis for regional management focused on benchmarking to BAML EMEA
  • Consolidated analysis of peer group performance, including strategic insights for senior leadership to drive priorities
  • Monitor news flow / market developments / analyst reports to provide updates and insights to senior management

Regional Reporting and Executive Support:
  • Ad-hoc analysis, presentations and briefings for senior management and for internal and external audiences


Essential Skills
  • Strong financial modeling skills including the ability to build well-controlled spreadsheets and source appropriate and meaningful data
  • Very strong communication skills: ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally and to feel comfortable delivering financial analysis, insights and recommendations to senior individuals


Nice to have
  • A first / high second class degree and a strong business knowledge of investment banking industry
  • Experience with a Financial Planning/Strategy function within a blue chip financial institution, ideally a top tier IB
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior executives
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or CFA Charterholder or in the final year of qualification
