Storage Administrator w/Oracle and NetApp's Snap Manager

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires strong experience in NetApp's Snap Manager for Oracle with extensive hands-on experience.
  • Requires excellent understanding of Oracle and Migration from IBM AIX to NetApp.Requires Expert Knowledge of NetApp Core Technologies and in selling the NetApp Value Proposition
  • Requires consulting on NetApp Best Practices
  • Requires expert knowledge of NAS/SAN environments
  • Requires expertise with NetApp Data OnTap 7mode
  • Requires Excellent Leadership Skills & Abilities.

Experience in Performing Specific Tasks & Function may include but not limited to the following:

  • SMO profiles for all DBs
  • Assist DBAs
  • SMO backup scheduling/testing - assist DBAs
  • Protection Manager:

1) Snapdrive registration with DFM pending Firewall rules changes;
2) Configure SnapDrive/Unified Mgr;
3) Create profiles and test;
4) Baseline performance analysis;
5) Update SOP (data protection policies, etc.)

Experience required in General Tasks & Functions includes:

  • Performing storage administration and management tasks
  • Perform change management, implementations, storage provisioning
  • Performing storage administration and management tasks

  • Perform basic problem management relating to implementation and support.
  • Improving customer's storage management tools and configuration

  • Provide recommended storage management best practices Installation and upgrade of tools, patches, firmware, storage, monitoring systems
  • Monitoring, diagnostics and replacement of Components
  • Testing and validation
  • Experience required in Migration Tasks Include the following:

    • Perform all necessary procedures to initiate migration from IBM AIX to NetApp including startup and take down of Servers, storage configuration, mounting volume groups and file systems, and verifying data integrity for all Servers.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of a load-balanced infrastructure per customer requirements.
    • Implement and configure NetApp for Snap Mirror, SMO, Flex Clone and Oracle dNFS per requirements for all EDCAPS environments.
    • Install and configure Oracle dNFS configuration on remaining hosts connected to NetApp Storage.
    • Analyze, plan, test, and implement the migration of customer environment to Test, Production and DR using NetApp.
    • Migrate data from AIX, Sun, and Linux Servers to NetApp Storage.
    • Migrate data from IBM and Compellent Storage to NetApp Storage.
    • Migrate Oracle data using NetApp and leveraging RMAN.
    • Assist with the setup, configuration, and replication of Production to DRF and non-Production environments using NetApp.
    • Assist with the install and configuration of NetApp on all customer Servers.
    • Gather data relevant to the migration project, including server and storage information, LUN serial numbers, target LUN information, etc.
    • Assist with the connection of the NetApp storage to all customer Servers and verify connectivity and functionality.
    • Assist with applying and insuring that all updates, patches and firmware to NetApp Storage, appliances, and Switches are applied to facilitate the migration.
    • Ensure NetApp SAN storage is accessible to all customer Dectest, Production and DR Servers to allow for the retirement of all current IBM Storage.
    • Document IBM AIX environment as well as NetApp Environment
    • Generate a completion report after the migration service is completed.Perference for candidates living within a commutable distance to Washington DC

    LOCATION: WASHINGTON, DC

    Hourly Contract Rate: $49 hr W2

    CONTRACT DURATION: 90 days w/90 day potential extension

    IMMEDIATE START DATE: OCTOBER 2014
