Job Role: Process Planner
Location: Bristol
Type: Contract
Salary/Rate: £30 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
We are urgently seeking Process Planners to work in a manufacturing environment based in Bristol. You will be based on-site at a aviation manufacturing company carrying out a range of manufacturing engineering tasks, eg manufacturing instruction updates, process planning and data analysis.
Work description
- Define manufacturing/assembly sequencing as per Design intent
- Analyze design for manufacture/assembly
- Advise management on Do-Buy recommendations, Detail Project Report (DPR) and estimation
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities
- Carry out planning activities and associated tasks in support of the manufacturing instructions requirements
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, viz. Lean Management
- Support design and development of tooling and fixturing for conventional and non-conventional machine tools
- Support/establishing the Manufacturing technology for Serial production & traceability
Support SPC - statistical process control - Data analysis, process control, process improvements - Support CMM/bench inspections for qualification of parts. Read and interpret CMM/manual inspection reports and recommend appropriate actions
- Support Concession management and co-ordinate the countermeasure plan for process improvements
- Support in Time & Motion Study of manufacturing/assembly process
- Derive PFMEA and Control Plans
- Participate in cross-functional settings and work with support functions viz. design, production quality etc.
- Awareness of Production cost estimation of the design intent & advise management on the expenditure by reviews, actions & controls
- Support Cost reduction & continual improvement activities
- Analyze raw data and generate useable reports
- To execute tasks in line with the Quality Procedures and Production system
- Monitor component manufacturing process and resolve any issues arising during production
Arrive at sampling procedures for process evaluation, and reporting quality and reliability data via SPC, PFMEA, Control charts etc. - Support/advise CFT on the Environment & Safety issues, arising from the proposed production system, in line with Industrial regulation
- Advise CFT/management on containment procedures arising due to defective production
- Define packaging & storing method suitable for production/assembly
- Awareness on different engineering standards of various ISO and ASME chapters/editions
Key Technical/Professional Competencies
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Understanding of Quality Management System ( AS9100, ISO14000, ISO9001, TS16949)
- Understanding of capability acquisition
- Understanding of product design and introduction
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA and Control plans
- Understanding of Process Excellence (certified Green Belt)
- Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering core processes (eg process planning, inspection planning, tooling, creation of operator instructions)
- Understanding of Measurement processes
- Understanding of Process capability as determined by statistical process control
- Awareness of aerospace engine products
- Awareness of aerospace quality requirements
- Ability to characterize various tools, tooling's and fixtures
- Ability to interpret/generate engineering drawings/models
Computer/SW skills to be used
- MS Office tools: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint,MS Project
- Software: CAD Tools(UG preferred), SAP
- Analysis tools: Minitab14 and Simulation tools
- Product Lifecycle Management: Teamcenter/CAPP modules
