£500 per day tax free + 12 month contract + winter Sun

The responsibilities for the Marketing Planning Manager - Contract - Dubai

  • The role is responsible for driving a more planned and customer-centric approach to the clients email communications within Corporate Communications Marketing and Brand as well as other internal departments. The candidate will be required to initiate new analytical projects, together with Business Intelligence Team in the Commercial department, to define and develop customer segments/classifications - eg reason for travel, demographic/life-stage segments as well as very specific insights into business questions.
  • Whilst the local countries/regions will continue to create and manage tactical commercial communications which focus on routes, load factors and purchases of core products, the role of the Planning Manager will be to develop more strategic programmes eg driving higher engagement with the client, managing the portfolio of customers to move more into favourable RFV clusters, supporting Skywards tier programmes and using customer insight to drive bespoke propositions/offers to targeted customer groups.
  • The Planning Manager will typically work at a global level but may at times identify specific regional or market characteristics which warrant a local offer or campaign, whilst working closely with the Lifecycle Marketing Manager to ensure at all times that there is no interference with global life cycle campaigns.
  • The Planning Manager will need to work with both the ongoing tactical commercial activities and the life cycle programme and will be central to making recommendations on customer contact frequency as well as the optimisation of campaigns.
  • The Planning Manager needs to be conversant in statistical methodologies and understand how they apply to marketing plans. They need to be very numerate and driven by customer insight, be it from customer analysis from Single Customer View (SCV) database/Customer Insight Portal, market research or campaign testing. They will champion best practice in campaign testing and be heavily engaged in the evaluation and insight from campaigns; not only those driven from their own planning but also from the Lifecycle Manager and the Regions.
  • They need to champion adoption of the Customer Insight Portal and use of data, to make informed marketing decisions within the Digital and wider Corporate Communications teams, acting as coach and consultant to a wide range of internal stakeholders.
  • Success will be measured using a range of metrics including dashboards on customer portfolio/mix, campaign performance measures, conversion rates and sales, customer engagement scores and support for product and service innovation.

  • Strategic customer insight and planning; driving initiatives and insight that is focused on customers and specific business goals.
  • Manage and lead the development and use of new customer segments and scores.
  • Manage and lead in best practice in testing and closed loop customer analysis to drive improved performance.
  • Create and justify (business cases and ROI) targeted global customer communication plans. Gain approval for investment in them.
  • Lead on customer contact frequency strategies and the optimisation of campaigns.
  • Lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of specific insight projects with Business Intelligence Team and Market Research to meet a business goal.
  • Manage and deliver targeted plans and campaign briefs.
  • Interpret and report upon the success and ROI of campaigns to all relevant parts of the business.
  • Track, monitor and interpret KPIs and customer metrics against targets; instigate actions off the back of divergences from target.
  • The person for the Marketing Planning Manager - Contract - Dubai

    • Degree level from an internationally recognised university with a numerate and marketing bias
    • Experience in service industry in a senior marketing role (preferably with a strategic or planning element to it) with demonstrable experience in the interpretation and exploitation of customer insight to drive revenue generating marketing campaigns.
    • Strong analytical aptitude and knowledge of statistics and statistical methodologies as they apply to marketing.
    • Experienced in direct marketing techniques and market research/customer insight.
    • Must be able to manage interpersonal and diplomatic situations yet stay focused on the end goal
    • Must be able to manage change taking responsibility for the business case and rationale for the new campaigns or supporting propositions.
    • Must be customer centric and focused, pragmatic and commercially astute to manage new communications which may cut across existing, historical activities.
