Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Contract in HammersmithA technology application company with a global presence are currently looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the team in there London office
In order to accelerate growth, they are looking for a highly motivated & talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer with the view to potentially join the IT Operations team.
Some of the key responsibly will include:
*Provide technical direction on infrastructure projects
*Ensure availability and reliability for production services
*Administer linux estate including ensuring data integrity (security/backups)
*Administer and grow the virtual infrastructure (VMWare, RHEV, KVM etc)
*Administer the storage estate.
*Assist in the design and administration of the networking infrastructure
*Provide out of hours on call support for NOC escalations
*Engage in project work as defined by the Project Manager
*Assist in formulating and delivering the production IT strategy
Desired Skills and Experience
*Strong understanding of storage technologies both hardware, storage principles and software technology (iSCSI, NFS, zoning etc)
*Experience of Unix / Linux system Architecture, administration, configuration and automation
*Experience of running and monitoring highly available websites
*Experience evaluating and migrating to cloud services (AWS, Google, etc)
*Understanding of security best practices for production environments
*Understand Agile methodology and experience applying that to an operational environment
*Any development, scripting knowledge also beneficial.
