Job Description
My client, a major global telecommunications provider, has an urgent requirement for a IP Voice Engineer to join their operation based in South Dublin. You will be responsible for the overarching solution design and implementation of converged voice capability leading into in life service change and continuous improvement activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Liaise with other areas of the business outside of the Core network department as required for successful planning and implementation of a project.(eg with Suppliers, 3rd Parties, network engineers, group & strategy department)
- Engage with business units where relevant to understand their requirements and identify/develop solutions that best meet their needs and fits with the overall technology architecture and strategy.
- Assist in budget preparation and examine budget estimates for completeness, accuracy. Track budget spend within projects.
Skills/Requirements:
- Educated to degree level in an Engineering/Telecommunications discipline
- Excellent working knowledge of IMS protocols including SIP and Diameter.
- Detailed knowledge of the IMS functional architecture and integration/interworking with the Legacy TDM environment
- Detailed knowledge of the interworking functions of all aspects of a GSM/UMTS/LTE networks as well as key associated technologies and functionality including IMS, RCSe, Volte, SRVCC and CSFB
- Deep knowledge of IP Networking and the application of IP applications within a telecommunications environment
- Good working knowledge of 3GPP, IETF and GSMA standards and architectures.
- VoIP deployment experience
- Design and deployment experience of key network systems through the full delivery life cycle from initial design to full operational handover.
- Experience of converged solution including Centrex principles.
- Participate in the translation of the IP Voice strategy and architecture into long range plans
