MS SQL DBA SYBASE ASE 15 ADMINISTRATOR UNIX Linux SHELL
We are currently seeking a Senior MS SQL DBA, Sybase ASE 15, Administrator (UNIX, Linux, SHELL) database administrator to embark on a long term contract for a global player. You should have at least five years' MS SQL Server experience (ideally Certified). You must also have a strong track record in writing and installing scripts for database administration tasks, such as backups and capacity monitoring.
Must Haves:
* Strong MS SQL product knowledge.
* Write technical documents
* Building severs and databases to global standards
* Extensive performance & tuning experience
* An understanding of fault-finding database client connectivity
* An understanding of database security and auditing
* An understanding of network, concurrent access and locking issues.
* An understanding of database logging and recovery and how to recover from the various failure scenarios.
Desirable skills:
* Strong knowledge and experience with database security (in particular database encryption technology, but also procedures around that, like Segregation of Duties and Key Management)
* A good understanding of Sybase ASE 15 in a multi-platform (UNIX and Linux) environment.
* Unix Shell Scripting
* Experience performing server consolidation
* Administration of databases in a Storage Area Network environment
