Experienced Operations Managers required for an exciting new joint venture project on a contract basis (6 months minimum).

Company description:

This is a 50:50 Joint venture between one of Irelands leading utilities company and a global telecommunications company.

Role objective:

The Operations Manager will be directly accountable for the performance of the Operations Dept and will have total responsibility for ensuring the operational accountabilities are met.

This involves establishing an operations function from greenfield, for network and IT services to best practice levels, putting in place all people, processes and systems required to manage availability and performance.

The Operations manager will also be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Operations function, and engaging with all the parts of the business to ensure that Operations strategies are understood, integrated and executed.

Essence of the role:

  • Strong Leadership and Effective Management
    • Define, establish and manage all Operations process workflows
    • Control and manage the authorisation process in relation to change management, configuration management, release management and test processes
    • Manage the provision of service and the operational interface between the Joint Venture Company and any service provider
    • Govern the incident and problem management processes
    • Ensure the 24. 7 continuous monitoring and operation, triage and first line fixes
  • Relationship Management
    • Liaise with the Plan and Design function on an ongoing basis to identify key operational risks 
    • Track and manage all Operational SLAs that the JV Co is providing out
    • Meet with the relevant IT delivery organisations to develop and continuously improve the Operational support systems.

Skills/Competencies required:

  • Previous experience project managing large scale operations in the electricity sector
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Effective and efficient communication skills
  • Process driven
  • Telco Experience
  • Start-up company experience desirable
  • Mobile networks experience beneficial
  • Operational Change management experience
