Firewall Engineer / Network Engineer

My client offers transactional services to the payment industry and are leaders in their field.

You will be working closely with a leading financial services client.

You will be required to undergo PES clearance and will have to make personal information available to do so.

Location: Edinburgh or London

Rate: £ per day

Length: 3 Months

Daily Duties:

• The Firewall Engineers' primary responsibility is resolution for products and services.
• You will support for pre-sale technical questions from internal sales or services professionals.
• Works directly to understand problems, and retrieve complex known solutions using available systems, tools, and resources to resolve the customer's problems.
• You will be working on network firewall activities.

Projects:

• The Firewall Engineer will assist with the planning and implementation of secure network perimeter changes across several projects.
• Implementing simple policy amendments to existing perimeter devices up to planning and implementing the deployment of additional HA firewall clusters to expand the global perimeter.

Background:

• You must have one or more of Cisco CCNA, Fortinet FCNSA, Checkpoint CCSA, Juniper JNCIA.
• Good overall security knowledge
• Nokia / Checkpoint, Fortinet Fortigate, Cisco ASA and Juniper Netscreen - Firewalls.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent or Technical/Associate degree.
• PC knowledge, a technical background, problem solving skills and customer service/industry background.

Other Information:

• May be asked to travel to other client sites.
• Also may be requirement to work out of hours but this will be with prior approval of overtime. No overtime is paid unless it has prior authorisation.
