Learning Technology Services (LTS) provides assistance to faculty and graduate students who are interested in using technology to support, supplement or enhance their teaching and research, regardless of their faculty affiliation. As a central support unit LTS works closely with the Teaching Commons, which provides overall pedagogical support to York faculty, and work cooperatively with local technical support units to coordinate services. Services range from individual and project consultation to delivering workshops on implementing technologies into your course.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A ONE YEAR CONTRACT POSITION (1 Year From Date of Hire).

The Instructional Technologist will work in collaboration with both faculty and administrative units across the university to create engaging and effective instructional materials in a range of formats that are functional, intuitive, informative and consistent with sound instructional design principles to support the university's course offerings (web enhanced, blended, online and face-to-face) and administrative projects. The Instructional Technologist will be responsible for translating needs of faculty and staff into scalable solutions that will encourage the adoption of relevant and emerging technologies to meet learning objectives. In addition to creating rich learning objects and evaluating their effectiveness, the Instructional Technologist will provide guidance to faculty and staff on the development of learning objects to support course instruction. The Instructional Technologist will continually explore new technologies and make recommendation for their application to instructional problems within the academic and administrative domain.
