Contract - Senior Associate - London - 12 Month Contract

What does this job involve?

The role will involve being part of a team responsible for working on CRD IV to design and implement a supervision strategy for handling all new COREP/FINREP events for C4 firms.

In particular it will involve:

  • Identifying and handling high risk CRD IV COREP and FINREP events requiring urgent action, understand the risk each case poses to our objectives, prepare a strategy to address the issue and use your judgement and influence to mitigate the risk;
  • Correspond with firms and use the regulatory tools available to address CRD IV COREP and FINREP reporting issues to ensure firms take appropriate remedial action;
  • Close CRD IV COREP and FINREP events that are within our risk tolerance or where no breach of the regulations has occurred with a clear rationale;
  • Review open CRD IV COREP and FINREP cases to ensure we respond quickly to events and that our approach is proportionate, providing feedback to firms, supervisors and Management as appropriate;
  • Develop and implement a process for handling CRD IV COREP and FINREP events and in-put into quality assurance;
  • Support and deliver internal training to increase FCA COREP/FINREP knowledge to improve the overall data quality of submissions.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to tackle CRD IV issues that are emerging or have happened, briefing Senior Management and governance committees verbally and in writing.

Which Skills are required?

  • Proven experience of analysing large amounts of complex prudential information and identifying key risks and solutions;
  • Good working knowledge for CRD IV legislation
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • An ability to link analysis of prudential risks to pragmatic and effective mitigation tools;
  • An ability to work quickly and efficiently whilst exercising sound judgement;
  • Strong influencing and impact skills
  • Good working knowledge of the regulatory standards for small firms (eg relevant Prudential handbook requirements and the Principles for Businesses).
