The individual in this role will support devices within a class-leading support organization that operates . The role favors the ability to independently collect information, correlate data, and troubleshoot complex customer problems to closure. Other tasks include detailed documentation of defects, trend analysis, learning new technologies through formal training or independent research, leading conference calls, contributing to a team wiki, and reviewing/writing technical documentation.

SKILLS:

  • Ideal candidate has background in customer support, good customer skills, is fluent in Linux administration, and has experience in troubleshooting of IP Networks.
  • BSEE degree and strong Internet protocol networks experience
  • Operational familiarity with VOD, MySQL, Oracle, QAM, MPEG, case management/CRM, call center operations also a plus.
  • Candidate will be a diligent self-starter but have ability to communicate, share, and interact with a group of 15+ spread across different time zones and continents.
  • Individual would have degree or equivalent 2-4 years experience in Linux, networking, cloud, video, discipline. CCNA certification (and min 3+ years WAN network experience) would also be considered.
  • Must have a support background, with customer support working with a team,cable providers, looking for strong background in that.
  • Must be able to work independently and diligently, but must work well with team.
  • Linux skill set or someone with cable tv operations are a plus. Linux admin great.
  • TCP IP familiarity, networking, familiar with key - ticketing systems and/or knowledge based systems.
