Contracts Manager - Maidenhead - 3 Month Initial Contract

Our client, a Global pharmaceutical company is seeking a Contracts Manager to be based in Maidenhead on an initial 3 month contract.

Job Responsibility:
*Influence the DH and NHS procurement agenda for patented medicines based on good procurement practise, focusing on patient outcomes, value for money, and a fostering of the uptake of innovation, whilst ensuring clinician and patient choice.
*Influence DH and NHS procurement in a cost containment environment, combatting the threat of procurement led therapeutic rationalisation in the face of complex biosimilars and generic competition.
*Influence the agenda to ensure NHS contracts and tenders are transparent, predictable & fair, that serve both the contracting and supplier interests.
*Coordinate in field and brand team activity for best practise procurement, contracts and tenders by leveraging Matrix working, utilising the messages, tools and processes developed within the Contracts Excellence process
*Account Manage contractual authorities in England, Wales & Northern Ireland, PMSG members and other key procurers within secondary care.
*Identify contract and tender opportunities for the product portfolio.
*Prepare internal presentations and co-ordinate bid submissions for all products for the south of England, London, Wales, Northern Ireland, and private hospitals for senior management approval to ensure products are optimally positioned on future tenders.
*Ensure current tenders remain compliant and proactively challenge when this is not the case
*Provide advice to brand team managers, in conjuncture with the Pricing Officer, in the development of pricing strategies & conditions of trade and implement those strategies.
*To consultant to brand teams for all procurement, contracts & tender activities as appropriate
*Deliver all other projects and tasks as appropriately set by the Commercial Manager to support the Contracts & Pricing team's objectives

Required Skills/Experience:
*Solid understanding of NHS and secondary care. Experience of working within the NHS secondary care environment or DH, with responsibilities for strategic procurement of medicines would be an advantage
*Medicine contracting experience, with solid understanding of competition and public procurement laws
*Exceptional Matrix working
*Strong negotiator & strong influencing skills
*Key account management skills
*Strong communication skills
*Ability to manipulate and interpret data
*Pro-active and forward-thinking
