About the role
The IM Infrastructure Manager is a member of the IM Infrastructure team and is accountable for the end-to-end service delivery and maintenance for all TfL IM Infrastructure within their technical service line including meeting the team's overall objectives and leading the drive within IM to deliver customer satisfaction across all IM services.
The role holder is accountable for maintaining TfL's IM infrastructure estate within a complex safety-critical, multiple-site operational business (including networks, telephony, data centres, desktops and helpdesk) regardless of individual sourcing options, in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and provides the strategic direction for the infrastructure supported to ensure continued service availability and SLA compliance.
This includes the operational responsibility for ensuring performance and availability of TfL Critical Operational and Business systems and services mitigating all risk for loss of service availability, security compliance, safety compliance, revenue and reputation to TfL .The role holder will focus on one Infrastructure functional discipline, but is expected to rotate between the others as directed by the Head of Infrastructure.
Head of Infrastructure Assurance
Accountable for the ownership, production, maintenance, implementation and adherence to TfL IM Infrastructure detailed technical standards ensuring that all IM supported technology has a standard build and support guidelines documented. Lead on ensuring compliance with all agreed technology standards, roadmaps, patterns and designs and that infrastructure deployed is consistent with approved low level designs
Head of Infrastructure Operations
Accountable for the day to day provision and availability of supporting TfL IM infrastructure such as storage, databases, hosting, server platforms, virtualisation, as well as ITIL services, incident management, problem resolution, back-ups and on-call arrangements.
The role holder is responsible for strategic leadership by ensuring the Infrastructure team deliver their team objectives, demonstrating a leadership style that fosters a customer service culture across IM and collaborating with colleagues within, and outside the IM organisation in a manner that builds and sustains strong senior-level partnerships and ways of working between IM and other TfL departments. The role holder must embrace and consistently demonstrate TfL's key behaviours; being accountable, getting the right things done efficiently, working collaboratively to do it, directly, fairly and consistently.
Experience
· Has worked within the IM industry in a senior management role reporting to head of department level and working with senior business managers to enable business benefit through IM service delivery;
· Proven experience of managing a group of highly skilled business and IT professionals to deliver an ITIL-based infrastructure service management capability in a complex, multi-site, preferably public service organisation; and
Proven leadership experience of developing a customer-focused service culture within an IM department and enabling people development towards this objective.
