Description

Our leading international Semiconductor partner is looking for a Principal RF Characterisation Engineer. As Characterisation Engineer, you will be a member of the test and product engineering group and will work together with design, product, quality and package & assembly engineers in multifunctional design teams. These teams develop new products in state of the art processes like LDMOS and GaN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The core of your work is translating the specifications derived from the customer application into a test circuit used in production. You will focus on the actual testing of the products developed. This includes writing the test scripts, building and tuning the RF test circuits using equipment like RF spectrum analysers, RF power meters, and AC & DC supplies. Analysing the data including embedding/de-embedding and reporting the conclusions in the project team is part of your skills.
Technical understanding of the customer application is an important part of this work, to ensure the match between production testing and the application of the customer. As principal engineer you will be a driving force in adapting the characterisation and testing to the demands of the market.
An important part of the work is guiding the transfer from lab measurements: complete exhaustive measuring to get the real performance of the device, to industrial testing: as fast as possible discriminate between good and fail devices. This approach is relatively new and steering and guiding this shift in test strategy will be an important part of the job. Hence personal communication and leadership skills are asked for.
You are involved in issues coming from production and represent production in the design teams, actually bridging design with production. As such you play an important role in our continuous improvements process. Translating lessons learned in production into new designs to avoid future problems. Your opinion matters, you are expected to drive this and influence the end result of a design team.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor/Masters degree in electronics.
• Experience in Characterisation engineering
• Pre: Hands on approach, experience in building of RF circuits.
• Experience in RF and Wireless communication techniques
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
• Self-starting and proactive attitude.
