C++ Software Engineer (Code, Programming tools, Debugging and Documentation)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join a vibrant team working in the Debugging department for a Gaming company based in the United Kingdom.

The company itself was founded over twenty-five years ago and is considered to be at the forefront of developing tools for games. This company specialises in creating products for building, debugging and profiling games as well as producing tools that control development hardware. A global company with offices in Europe and North America has enabled them to ensure they are leading the way for research and development within the Gaming Industry.

As a C++ Software Engineer you are required work alongside your team to develop debuggers for all platforms that this Gaming Company produce. This being an aspect of a toolset which also incorporates target management applications and Microsoft Visual Studio Integration. You ideally will be proactive, competent in designing and coding and be passionate about the quality of your own work.

Responsibilities include:

*Developing upon existing features of the Debugger as well as creating your own.

*Manufacturing your own schedule and working to deadlines.

*Provide estimates for tasks

*Repeatedly work alongside support engineers on customer issues.

*Participate in code and documentation reviews.

*Contribute to producing documentation by aiding technical writers.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

*BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.

*Between 2 and 5 years commercial experience.

*A history of developing Microsoft Windows applications with graphical user interfaces: e.g. GDI

*Strong C++ and STL development skills.

*Excellent object-orientated design skills.

Desirable Skills:

*C# development experience.

*Multi-threaded experience.

*Experience of debugging:

oDevelopment

oDebugger internals

oDebugging file formats.

*Experience of using Intel, ARM, PowerPC architectures

*Knowledge of MSBuild.

You must be eligible to work within the UK.

Start date: Ideally as soon as possible.
