Job Profile Senior RAN Designer

The Service Delivery Unit 'Planning' is one of SDU's within the Local Service Organization NL. The Planning department realizes different innovative projects within the Dutch Telecom Operator market. Among the activities of the department the most important are:

  • Advising customer in the development of their network;
  • Defining Roll-out strategy in the RAN domain;
  • Design new innovation in the Operators Network on RAN, Transmission, Core and IP;
  • Optimizations in the Customers' network;
  • Support the SDU Network Deployment with the various Roll Out Programs (eg VF-NL Spring);
  • Produce High Level & Low Level designs or contribute cross domain and End to End Network design;
  • As a designer, participate in and contribute to RAN SW and HW upgrade projects;
  • As a designer participate in and contribute to Pilot of Trial projects;
  • Knowledge of LTE, RF Planning and HW/Technology in the RF domain like RBS, eNodeB, de RNC etc;
  • Consults with customer and anticipates, recognizes and meets/exceeds customers' expectations;
  • Can generate Add-on sales by identifying and translating the customers' needs into new Services.

Job Requirements Senior RAN Designer

  • Master/Bachelor degree (technical/telecommunications);
  • At least 6 years of relevant working experience;
  • Broad experience and proven track record in Roll Out Programs;
  • Strong experience with and knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE technologies;
  • Advanced understanding of Wireless Network architecture, Technologies, Spectrum concepts and standards (eg 3GPP, ITU-T);
  • Ability to delegate and steer a small team of designers;
  • Good communication skills in English (both verbally and in writing). Dutch is a plus;
  • Counterpart for customers, project management and higher management;
  • Problem solver and coach for others;
  • Responsible, service minded, flexible, taking initiatives.
