MS SQL Database Administrator - Our client, an international bank, is currently looking for an experienced MS SQL DBA to join the global DBA organization. The MS SQL database team provides 2nd and 3rd Level Support for the bank`s trading and sales, corporate, retail and private banking applications.Description:

Your main responsibility for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks on MS SQL databases. You will upgrade and migrate databases and be involved in the configuration management and backup recovery. In addition to operational responsibilities you will provide various services to our developers as well as to application platforms within the company. This will include troubleshooting, tuning assistance and query optimization assistance. -
Active participation in the resolution of system and performance issues Close working relationship with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments. -
DBA support for development teams and involvement in recommendations for new projects
Must have:
- Professional DBA of Microsoft SQL Server <2005 up to recent>
- work experience in MS SQL ideally within the financial sector
- Good knowledge of Windows operating system and SQL Server Clustering based on Windows Server with of VERITAS clustering and volume manager
- knowledge of installing and configuring SQL Server- Reporting Services, Integrations Services, Analysis Services.
- Good SQL and basic scripting language knowledge
- English skills
- Good communication skills
- OnCall readiness
Knowledge which is an advantage:
- knowledge of Sybase RDBMS / Sybase IQ
- Experience with Oracle RDBMS
- skills and experience in DB Tuning/Optimization
- SAN/NAS Storage
- Virtualization Skills (VM-Ware)
Nice to have:
- ability to build and maintain customer relationship
- experience in writing documentation
- ITIL
- German skills
