Role: Mechanical Product Developer
Type: initially 8 month contract
Location: Norway
Our client is one of the world's leading providers of Healthcare Solutions, strongly dedicated to helping to save lives by providing products and services such as Basic and Advanced Life Support, Simulation and Medical Education and many more.
They are looking for a Mechanical Product Developer to join the team and help with the Mechanical Design function in the development of a new medical device model.
Key Accountabilities
Hands-on configuration and build of medical device internals
Location & design of internal fixation brackets for re-routed cables, connectors etc.
Responsible for delivering mechanical elements of prototype and integration testing
Mock-up & prototyping
Responsible for Mechanical Design-for-environment/endurance
Design-for-manufacture/assembly. Design-for-Service.
Responsible for delivering mechanical specifications and drawings, component & assemblies
Requires experience of mechanical engineering and product design
Solid knowledge of component design (pressed metal, cast, machined, injection moulded)
Key Requirements
Experience with testing (concept) verification methods
Must have experience in CAD (NX 8.5)
Able to write test protocols, conduct tests and report
Able to conduct mechanical DFMEA and identify product & project risks, issues & uncertainties
Proposal & implementation of mechanical (design) mitigation

Ideally experience within mechanical development of medical device
