We have a major telecoms client with a contract opportunity for a Transmission Network Engineer to work in their Service Delivery Unit for Network Design & Integration.
The client is offering a healthy contract and are considered one of the leaders within the telecommunication industry. As the Transmission Network Engineer you will need to have a broad technical appreciation of Transmission and Ethernet technologies in a mobile operator environment, with a good ability to translate Designs and Plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- translating network designs and plans into real-live state of the art transmission networks and associated infrastructure (transmission cabling, ducts, cabinets etc.)
- ensure that core transmission network capacity is built according to existing guidelines
- Internally, you will be the transmission specialist for other departments.
- Externally you will maintain contacts within the suppliers
- Prepare requests for quotation, and evaluate quotes
- Prepare the ordering of transmission equipment
- lead Transmission based Implementation projects
For this role you will need:
- to be familiar with modern transmission systems
- have a good knowledge of Ethernet/MPLS/IP technology
- have knowledge of T2000, (PTN , OSN en DWDM OSN 8800)
Please be aware that this role is based in Sliedrecht, Netherlands, but you will be required to travel to customer sites regularly.
