Financial Reporting Accountant - Oil and Gas - Reading
My client, an international energy business, are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join the Group Financial Reporting Team, initially on a 6 month contract.
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to the preparation and control of the Group Annual Report and Accounts and Data Book.
- Assist in the preparation and verification of the quarterly results announcement.
- Preparation of management information to support quarterly results announcement and analyst presentation.
- Liaise closely with Assets (overseas operations) to understand quarterly results and business developments.
- Advise asset finance staff on accounting transactions.
- Ensure Group compliance with accounting policies.
- Support other Group functions on finance related issues.
- Preparation and review of Group Balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
- Maintenance of the Group consolidation system and month end close routines.
- Preparation of subsidiary statutory accounts.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working within a financial reporting or similar role.
- Strong financial accounting background.
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a related subject.
- Qualified accountant with experience in financial reporting, preferably in a complex multi-company, multi-currency environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Self-starter with strong analytical and presentational skills.
