Communications and Engagement Programme Leader; East of England; 6 Month; £510/day

My client, a leading Public Sector organisation, is looking to recruit a Communications and Engagement Programme Leader to join their technical division onsite in Bedford. As Communications and Engagement Programme Leader, you will be required to work with the wider communications teams to develop appropriate products and services that best meet the needs of the programme and to provide a joined up service. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working a complex environment and leading a team.

Key Knowledge and Skills
*Planning, commissioning and delivering an integrated communications and engagement strategy, using all aspects of the communications mix, including media relations, events and digital channels, and commissioning specialist teams as appropriate.
*Being an active part of the programme leadership team, championing the communications, customer and stakeholder agenda across the programme; and supporting the change from a project to programme approach.
*Ensuring that programme communications and engagement is sufficiently resourced, drawing on internal resources and external supply chain support.
*Identify, segment and prioritise target stakeholders and be accountable for their successful management.
*Ensure that engagement with key national stakeholders on programme issues are aligned with wider corporate stakeholder engagement activity.
*Develop and deliver proactive plans for communications and stakeholder engagement, while being prepared for reactive communications and issues management.
*Guide and oversee the delivery of communications and engagement activities by supply chain partners.
*Engage with the stakeholder and communications agenda and ensure programme strategies influence and are aligned with the wider approach.
*Ensure the delivery plans are effectively monitored and evaluated, with a view to establishing best practice and actively sharing best practice with other relevant programmes.
*Demonstrate personal credibility and capability across the function to form strong and influential and collaborative relationships between self, managers, communication colleagues and our supply partners.

Essential Experience:
*Proven track record of working in a complex environment and leading a team
*Experience, planning and delivering integrated communications strategies
*Stakeholder engagement and consultation plans in a programme delivery environment, preferably in large scale infrastructure delivery, and/or the development sector (public sector not necessary

Security Clearance
*BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)
