Sub-Contract Manager - 6 months - Southampton - Negotiable Daily Rate

A leading Security and Defence client of Hyphen is looking for a Sub-Contract Manager to join their team in Southampton to join a large upcoming Project with one of their key stakeholders.

Primary Purpose of Job
To contribute to the profitability/competitiveness of the company. Whilst co-located with a Business Unit or Integrated Project team in order to manage the purchasing requirements, for bids, projects or products to ensure that all purchasing and sub-contract packages are delivered on time, to budget and at the required quality.

Work with the Segment Purchasing organisation to ensure packages are effectively delivered to meet the Business' needs.

Key Tasks: -
*Subcontract or Specialist Supplier Management
oManage the procurement of high risk/high value requirements for allocated project/subcontract, including;
oAdherence to Chorus processes
oDraft and negotiate agreements - MOUs, SLAs, Teaming Agreements, Subcontracts, Inter Group Agreements etc.
oNegotiation of sub-contracts to support Project budget constraints and achieve timely performance whilst minimising programme risk and exploiting programme opportunities, including appropriate Customer flow-down.
oNegotiation of Intergroup Agreements (IGAs) as appropriate and subsequent management of inter Group Thales Relationships, including control of budget creep and variance control within Competency Centres.
oManage the schedule and performance of allocated subcontracts, ensuring rigorous adherence to project management, quality and technical governance (may be achieved through cross functional team working)
oIdentification and mobilisation of internal support to sub-contracts from other departments

*Supplier Engagement
oFacilitate and manage, through co-operation with Segment Purchasing where appropriate, early involvement of the right suppliers to ensure that designs are optimised for cost, delivery and quality.
oIdentify the key projects/technologies/products and potential suppliers to develop relationships/partner with.

*Strategy & Planning
oDevelop supply chain architecture to meet needs of BPP
oWork with the Bid/Project team, to develop the Procurement Strategy for the allocated BPP and ensure the strategy is communicated within the Project and Function, ensuring that Project commitments are met.
oDevelopment of the Subcontract Management Plan to identify how the Project procurement strategy would be implemented across the Project, based on a reviewed and modified company Subcontract Management Process that is appropriate for the Project.
oImplementation of the Subcontract Management Process in Chorus
oTo play a key role in formulating and implementing the Make/Buy strategy for the Project.
oEffective support to the execution of WinBid
oPlay a key role in defining and implementing strategies to meet the offset/industrial participation needs of the BU where appropriate.
oContribute to Multi Year Budget
