Windows 7 Rollout Engineers/Deployment Engineers - Dublin, Ireland
The Xceed Group is now looking for a number of Windows 7 Rollout Engineers/Deployment Engineers.
to support their global financial services client to deliver a large Windows 7 Desktop rollout programme.
Location: South of Dublin, Ireland
Experience required and responsibilities
- Direct work experience in rolling out new Desktop and Laptop hardware with associated Windows operating systems with specific experience of upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7.
- Good overall knowledge of Windows desktop
- Operating systems (Windows XP and Windows 7) and how software interacts with them.
- Good overall knowledge of VDI, GPO, DCS, Active Directory and an understanding of how Group policies are applied and impact a desktop environment.
- Execute defined Windows 7 user data migration and OS upgrade workflow.
- Must be able to deploy both replacement and rebuild machines, following core-defined processes load additional applications and tools and then move on to the next machine.
- Must have experience of the set-up of MS Outlook including the capture and transfer of local and server based .PST files
- Must have experience of use of Software deployment toolsets (ideally SCCM).
- Escalate problems or issues to the designated Deployment Technician Lead when unable to resolve independently.
- Maintain a personable and professional relationship in all client interactions (walk-ups, inquiries, desk-side visits, status calls, etc.).
- Self-starter with high energy and drive to meet the needs of a demanding customer environment.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

This represents opportunities to work with leading technologies and blue chip clients. The core elements to these services will be infrastructure based including Migrations, Separations, Transformations, Desktop, Data Centre, Building (and decommissioning) Servers - (Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris), Storage and back-up (IBM, DSx, StorWize, TSM, N-Series, Net-App), EMC, HP, Clustering (Microsoft, VMware, HA), Cloud, and Databases (SQL Server, DB2, Oracle).
We work across various markets including Financial Services, Telecommunications, Media and Energy markets. Our core skills have developed from pure technology through to IT Infrastructure & Application Integration and Business Change, with strong Project and Programme Management always at the core.
This is a great opportunity to work as an Xceed Associate on one of our tier 1 account as an Windows 7 Rollout Engineers/Deployment Engineer on an initial 3 months contract with possible extension for another 9 months.
