Web Developer; JavaScript role
Ecommerce focused Digital agency are in need of a Web Developer for a three month contract based in the trendy part of East London. If you like working for free thinking Digital agencies that have their finger on the pulse please respond. Web Developer required.
As a Web Developer you will be part of a cross functional team building some of the most exciting and innovative Internet based solutions in market today - for a variety of blue chip clients.
You'll be primarily responsible for the creation of tactical websites and supporting HTML emails. However, some understanding of the entire development life cycle process in an agency environment is the key.
The ideal candidate needs to be passionate, hard working, apply rigour and have the relentless drive to be successful for the client and agency alike.
Requirements Standard Skills for Web Developer
- Flexible problem-solver, interested in technology and able to meet client challenges and learn new skills
- Excellent HTML/XHTML and CSS, being able to hand code entire sites from scratch in any given IDE, in a modular and scalable manner
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript; ability to perform client side data validation & proficiently code sites in AJAX
- An understanding of one or more JavaScript frameworks, especially JQuery
- Interest and experience of innovation - for example HTML5, CSS3
- Experience of building responsive design layouts to work across a range of device types.
- Ability to provide sample code and a number of previous URLs worked on
- Ability to work with Project Managers to accurately estimate timelines, meet deadlines, identify risks - and escalate issues at an early stage
- Ability to work with designers to provide advice and to implement pixel-perfect design across multiple browser combinations, including potentially mobile and Legacy platforms
- Ability to present concepts internally or to client
- Knowledge & experience of Version Control methodologies (eg SVN, VSS)
- Knowledge & experience of Quality Assurance processes and methodologies
- Experience of Back End technologies such as PHP, Ruby or .NET.
- Experience of developing open-source or bespoke CMS platforms - eg Drupal or Wordpress
- Experience of working in developer teams, especially within an agency environment
- Experience of professional documentation - eg authoring technical specification documents
- Knowledge of metrics tagging implementations such as Google Analytics
