For a project at our banking client site in Basel, we are looking for aSenior Sybase Database Administrator (2402)
In this role you are responsible for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks of Sybase databases and partly MS-SQL databases. You take actively part in the resolution of system and performance issues and work closely with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments. In an additional function you provide advice and assistance in terms of developing and progressing the infrastructure environments, including the assessment of needs and recommend solutions in an Enterprise IT.
To fulfill all these tasks you have the following qualifications/experiences:
• At least three years’ experience of Sybase ASE database and Sybase Replication Server administration ideally within the financial sector
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
• Good SQL and basic scripting language (Perl, shell) knowledge
• Positive is experience knowledge of Sybase Replication Server / Sybase IQ
• Experience with MS SQL Server
• Patrol and Control-M knowledge would be an advantage
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Manage issues and problems through to resolution
• Willed to work in a shift-model
• Fluency English, preferably also in German
