Description
My client, an Insurance organisation based in London are currently recruiting an experienced Finance Lead to refine Finance process and develop new Finance processes within the Groups Solvency II programme. This will sit within Pillar 3 and the Finance Lead will be required to have an Accountancy qualification and have previous Financial Reporting expertise within a multi currency Insurance business. The Finance Lead will work closely with the Actuarial team.
The Finance Lead will report directly into the Solvency II Programme Lead and be comfortable working within Solvency II and have an understanding of Solvency II rules and associated Financial data requirements.
The successful Finance Lead will also be responsible (Not limited to) the below:
Develop the associated data quality processes, methods, estimates and ratification of outputs for the:
Treatment of accounting data including treatment of expenses
Technical Provisions Estimation Process
The Standard Formula - Undertaking Specific Parameter estimation process and application to the PRA.
The Pillar 3 Actuarial and Finance reporting processes, including the walk across from IFRS to SII reporting
The Finance components of the ORSA process and report
Create, define and implement the additional requirements for a Finance Function in accordance with SII requirements - including working with the Actuarial function in the estimation of TPs, producing views on underwriting and reinsurance and driving closer collaboration with the risk team. All of which needs to be articulated via an annual finance function report to the Board.
Skills and Experience Required:
Qualified Accountant ideally with experience of financial reporting in a multi currency insurance environment
Up to date knowledge of IFRS and UK Gaap
Solvency II experience possibly including working as part of an implementation programme or project team especially in relation to Pillars 1 and 3
Solvency II experience might include working closely with Actuarial colleagues in the estimation of TPs, SF and USP analysis and Pillar III reporting requirements.
Strong understanding of building business requirements from information gathering through understanding the current processes and systems and developing transition methods to meet SII requirements.
Hands on
Good inter-personal skills and capable of working with business stakeholders at all levels
Day Rate: £500 - £550 per day
Location: London
Contract Length: 12 months
