Credentialing Coordinator
Description:
-Under supervision, collects credentialing information on initial and recredentialed LIP's and Allied Health Professionals.
Reappointment/recredentialing process
Maintains computerized database of practitioner data
Primary Source Verification/tracking of all state licenses, DEAs, Radiography certificates, ACLS/BLS etc.
Tracks LIP's and Allied Health Professional's licensing, drug enforcement administration requirements, various certifications, and proctoring reports from Chiefs of Service, National Practitioner Data Bank Query.
-Collects credentialing information on newly hired and current providers as required and maintains file system.
-Coordinates the receipt and process of the application initial and recredential.
-Maintains databases as required
Requirements:
1) Proficient with IBM PC, medical staff database
2) Proficient with medical terminology
3) Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and accreditation standards(ie, TJC, NCQA, CMS, Title 22)
-3+yrs experience in Medical Staff/Credentialing Office
-Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
-High School Diploma or GED required
* Health Screen Required.
-CPCS, preferred or 3+ previous general office/secretarial experience in a medical setting required.
-Previous experience using word processing programs required.
-Knowledge of current consent and release laws and medical terminology preferred.
