This role requires project management and/or business analysis experience, gained in a change management environment. The role is based in Liverpool as part of the company's project management capability and reports into the core Project Delivery team in London. You will need to be highly disciplined and self-motivated, be a problem solver and be results driven. You will be expected to participate in change projects in either a lead or supporting role and may be expected to control projects from inception through to post-implementation review, performing project management and business analysis tasks as required.

There is an expectation to travel between Liverpool and London offices as required.

Summary of role
Project objectives, including timescales and deliverables, will be given for each assignment; in general these will consist of the timely execution of analysis tasks and the management and/or production of project deliverables.

Working as a project manager the following will be required:

Personal attributes:
* Able to work directly with users (end user or developers) to resolve details not covered in requirements. * Ability to multi-task
* Work alone or as part of a team.
* Effective communication skills

It will be your responsibility to:
* Participate or lead the definition and scope of the project, using a facilitative approach with in-house or external expertise
* Support the development of the project business cases, and present this to the Project Management Committee
* Apply appropriate tools and techniques to control and monitor projects through: (although a variety of other techniques and approaches may be required)
o Effective and accurate project planning
o Identification, recording and management of project risks and issues
o Key metric reporting, etc
* Deliver projects against pre-determined goals: Time, Quality, Cost.
* Contribute towards the continuous improvement of project management techniques across the group
* Manage internal and external stakeholder input to projects and manage expectations of senior stakeholders.

A project manager may be expected to run numerous projects at any time, although this will depend on project size. Regular reporting (formal and informal) will be required, and will be co-ordinated through the project office.

Essential for the role
Experience of working as a project manager in a change environment
Appreciation of the full project life cycle with experience of participating in all stages of projects
Experience of planning and co-ordinating resources
Understanding of quality assurance within a project
Understanding and knowledge of Prince 2 project management approach
Influencing skills and confidence to engage senior stakeholders
Presentation, facilitation and professional writing skills
Understanding of the financial markets and products
Address problems through a methodical approach and propose solutions
Write minutes/action plans
Document business flows and processes
Microsoft Suite (knowledge of Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Motivated self-starter with a desire to build a career in project management

Preferable for the role
Knowledge/experience of the Investment Banking or Capital Markets sector
Any formal project management
