IS Support Manager - Oracle / Java - European Commission - Brussels
For one of our projects at the European Institutions in Brussels, we are urgently looking for a Support Manager.
Role:
The IS support manager will support the Commission personnel in terms of incident, problem and change management and related technical solutions.
Main tasks:
- Ensure the management of support activities in terms of high level technical support on all IT tools the Research and Innovation Family's end users adopt for the management of the multiannual programmes for European Research ,
- Assist the development teams by analysing and translating end users' recurrent problems into detailed defect reports and change requests for later implementation,
- Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of ITIL processes, namely incident, problem and change management,
- Whenever required, assist in application and end user acceptance test activities,
- Assist in the conception of high quality IT application and related business documentation and reporting.
For this role you need to have experience in:
- Experience in at least one of the following IT tools: ORACLE RDBMS/SQL, JAVA/J2EE, Coldfusion, PowerBuilder, IBM Rational tool set, Business Objects
- In depth knowledge of information systems matters
- In depth knowledge in IS support and technical assistance matters
- Working experience of software development methodologies (e.g. RUP)
- Strong capacity in preparing and writing activity reports and documentation
- Strong capacity to give high-level presentations
- Ability to apply high quality standards
- Good knowledge of MS-OFFICE tools
The next are considered assets:
- Any expertise and experience in WEB-service technologies (e.g. SOAP)
Languages:
Fluent in English and French is an asset
Others:
Capability of integration in an international/multicultural team environment
