Cobol Expert - Cobol Batch Expert
A large Financial services organisation currently have a need for a Cobol Expert - Cobol Batch Expert.
As the Cobol Batch Expert you will perform the following activities:
- Contribute to the drawing up and management of the planning for preliminary analysis and design phase.
- Performs functional analysis of information systems and draws up the functional design after the pre-study.
- Supports changes and enhancements from development through production; recommending and implementing system enhancements (eg system performance, screen appearance, report distribution and set-up testing).
- Develops new program requirements and specifications to support specific customer needs and system upgrades and resolves problems with current systems.
- Analyses service requests to determine feasibility, technological changes, resource requirements and project time estimates.
- Helps business in realisation of new business cases; co-ordinate preliminary studies.
- Meets with users to determine the end users specific needs and feasibility of pending routine projects
- Responsible for hand-over to the technical designer.
- Provides daily support to assigned client base and serves as a liaison between clients and programmers.
- Identifies, researches, and analyses production problems, develops solutions, and resolves problems
- Participates in project work, including analysis and requirements definition and testing.
- Identifies system enhancements, documents business needs and determines development impacts to current system processing and works with programmers and users to ensure accuracy or enhancements,
- Consults on development and updating of training materials and user manuals and prepares documentation for assigned products.
- Provides daily production support to assigned systems to identify production problems and resolves systems problems
- Participates in conversions, mergers, maintenance and development projects, including analysis and testing.
