Contracts Manager/Procurement Adviser; 5 months; Coventry; £450/day

My client is looking to urgently recruiting for a Contract Manager/Procurement Advisor in Coventry for 5 months initially (possibility of a further 12 months extension). The candidate will be working 2-3 days per week and ideally be available for an interview on the 18th of November.

The Contracts Manager/Procurement Adviser's responsibility is to provide a full range of contract management functions on existing contracts to ensure that the project delivers the required standard of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost, and to assist the Academies Financial Framework Programme Manager in the development of a robust procurement strategy and to provide professional advice and support in the re-tendering of a number of major contracts associated with the programme.

The Contracts Manager/Procurement Adviser will report to the Academies Financial Framework Programme Manager and work closely with the work-stream leads as well as a number of external contractors who have been appointed to the project to provide technical and specialist support.

The key responsibilities are:
*Provides contractual advice to the Project Lead and SRO as required
*Provides procurement advice to the AFF Programme Manager and assists in the development of the procurement strategy and preparation of tender documentation;
*Undertakes all contract management activity including dealing with change control requests, issuing variation orders, monitoring contract spend, facilitating contracts meetings and ad-hoc meetings and managing any contractual issues
*Provides key input to the project risk and issues register, including monitoring the progress of mitigation measures and action dates relating to contract management issues
*Takes responsibility for overall progress and use of resources, and initiates corrective action where necessary

Essential Experience:
*Delivery focused with the ability to work in a public sector governance environment
*Commercially astute with a good understanding of standard forms of contracts and procurement
*Good negotiation skills with an ability to influence
*Has good customer relationship and strong communication skills. Is able to facilitate meetings, and deliver informative and well-organised presentations
*Ability to find innovative ways of solving or pre-empting problems
*Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and manages expectations effectively *Manages expectations and pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mind-sets

Desirable Experience:
*Has knowledge of funding and the English educational

Security Clearance
*BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)
