One of our global clients is currently seeking a Senior Climate Scientist to join their team.Tasks and Responsibilities:
Act as focal point/coordinator for the client Climate Change Research department.
Work with the client Climate Change Research department team in implementation of physical parameterization schemes in CGCM, ultimately leading to publish results in peer reviewed international journals.
Development of verification tools and validation of the model outputs.
Mentor, guide and train the client Climate Change Research department team members on research endeavors.
Plan and execute short-term and long-term climate modelling research projects with the ultimate goal of releasing improved or novel products.
Qualifications:
A PhD in Climatology/Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences and strong record of publications (during the last 5 years) in international peer-reviewed journals related to development of global climate models.
At least 10 years of research experience in global climate model development from a leading climate modelling centre or international reputed university.
Experience in climate modelling research with knowledge of implementation of the physical schemes in CGCMs.
Working experience with HPC in climate model development.
Fluent spoken and written skills in English.
