Role: DevOps Engineer ContractLocation: Cork
Duration: 12 Months
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with a solid background in scripting and automation, specifically in Linux and Open Source systems.
The DevOps Engineer's primary focus will be on designing and developing mission-critical operations services, including change control, configuration management, load balancing, host provisioning, and monitoring. You will be part of a team that ensures services run smoothly 24x7 and are capable of scaling for anticipated growth. Working in a small team , you have the opportunity to learn a breadth of technologies and contribute significantly to our business.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong aptitude and passion for learning new technologies and a commitment to ensuring a stable and reliable platform for both internal developers and external customers. We value continuous improvement and pursuing optimizations and better solutions.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Scientific or technical degree in Computer Science/Communication Engineering
- At least 3 years of recent experience in Unix systems administration or systems management roles in a production architecture for a highly-trafficked Internet site
- Strong scripting and development skills in at least one of the following: Bash, Perl, C, Python, Ruby
- Ability to work well within a small, multidisciplinary team environment
- A solid understanding of networking and security best practices
- Experience analyzing and resolving performance, scalability and reliability issue
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions for distributed systems
- Experience with deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Proven troubleshooting experience, and a talent for solving hard problems
- Ability to learn technical concepts quickly with a strong sense of urgency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
