Senior DevOps Opensource Engineer - 4 Month Contract - OxfordContract Role: Senior DevOps Opensource Consultant
Contract Length: 4 Months
Location: Oxford
Day Rate: £350-£500 per day depending on experience
Computer Futures are seeking a highly skilled senior cloud consultant for a key client based in the Oxford areas. My client is looking to improve the design and operation of the leading IaaS and PaaS Cloud Computing Platforms within their IT department. A perfect candidate will have a proven background and experience of implementing and operating Cloud Infrastructure that is highly automated, highly secure and at large scale.
Key Skills, essential requirements & experience:
- Significant and demonstrable experience in python development including scripting and gui developments
- Experience of development within an open source environment
- Experience of development using the VMWare vCloud Director API to provide custom interface environments.
- Familiarity with working at the Linux command line and running Linux systems, ideally Bio-Linux or other Debian derivative.
- Knowledge of working with VM systems - eg. VMWare, Virtual Box, EC2 or other cloud systems.
- Knowledge of basic networking and web protocols - FTP, HTTP, SSH, RSYNC
- Ability to write clear documentation and to communicate with a wide audience, eg. explaining technical issues to non-technical users, and to deliver presentations and tutorials.
- Knowledge of writing scripts and small programs, ideally in Python, and ability to test and debug scripts and pipelines.
