Flight Test Engineer

FTE required for a leading global defence company based at Boscombe Down. The candidate will specifically be undertaking the flight test on aircraft or helicopter.

An opportunity exists for an Engineer within our Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) team

Specific Responsibilities
Design, manufacture, calibration, test and through life support of FTI systems fitted to various aircraft platforms. This may include detachment both in the UK and overseas.

Knowledge, skills and Personal Qualities Required
Experience of aircraft maintenance and avionic systems.
Demonstrable experience of the fundamentals of FTI systems.
Able to generate new designs for flight test instrumentation solutions in accordance with design requirements for aircraft installations and other specifications.
Able to lead on FTI build, installation and commissioning tasks and hold the necessary levels of authority to sign off own and team activities.
Knowledge of Autocad electrical design tools would be advantageous.
Able to represent the team at design reviews and project meetings.

Emerging and changing priorities for aircraft maintenance and support in line with trials flying programmes.

Able to uphold the necessary standards of professionalism whilst delivering against rigid milestones in support of test and evaluation activities.

Flexible in approach and able to make judgements in complex delivery situations.

Essential Qualifications
ONC in a relevant engineering discipline.

Desirable Qualifications
HNC/University Degree in aerospace engineering.
