I am looking to hire a Senior Internal Auditor for our public sector client.
Key tasks and deliverables
Reporting on progress and escalating issues as they arise.
Completing a programme of audit and assurance assignments, in compliance with an agreed methodology, providing an opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and control in the area covered.
Producing clear, accurate, complete and timely reports and carrying out activities to ensure that agreed management actions are completed.
Engaging with clients at all levels, promoting the work of Internal Audit and XDIAS, and managing client expectations through excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fulfilling different roles on assignments as required - you may be leading a small team on some assignments or working alone.
Reporting on progress and escalating issues as they arise.
Managing your own time and resource effectively, proactively identifying and taking ownership of issues affecting delivery of your objectives and those of the wider team.
Sharing expertise and experience with others to develop the skills base across the XDIAS teams.
Maintaining and developing your own technical and professional standards in all work undertaken.
Contributing constructively to the development of XDIAS as it becomes an Executive Agency of HMT.
Essential Experience:
Qualified accountant ACCA or equivalent, Member of Internal Auditors CMIIA, experience of conducting individual auditing assignments.
Understanding of central government, business and innovation skills experience, understanding of how central government is funded.
Must be able to demonstrate competence in the ability to see the bigger picture of audit work, to engage confidently with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels, provide challenge and support to business managers, and apply a consistent qualiyt intenal audit methodology to recognised standards.
