Senior Project Manager - Halifax - 3 months - Insurance/Financial Services

My client based in Halifax require a Senior Project Manager with Insurance/Financial Services experience for an initial 3 month contract. The ideal Project Manager will have come from a Development background and will take total accountability for planning, structuring, leading and executing the largest projects or programmes of high risk and complexity.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan the programme and monitor its overall progress, resolving risks and issues and initiating corrective action with allocated business owners as appropriate.
  • Manage and motivate the Programme team.
  • Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the projects is to appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan.
  • Be responsible for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the programme.
  • Manage both internal providers and third party contributions to the programme as appropriate.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects.
  • Manage the business risks associated with the programme's successful outcome.
  • Report progress of the programme at regular intervals to the programme board.
  • Ensure that all change adheres to standards, processes and procedures regarding governance, impact assessment and process documentation eg ensuring appropriate approvals and sign-offs, engagement from other areas of the business, and that processes and procedures are updated to reflect the changing needs of the business.
  • Undertake other duties over and above those listed in the job description, appropriate to the individual's skills and experience.

Experience

  • Previous experience in Project/Programme Management using leading methodologies and processes.
  • Experience of managing multiple parties including project managers, business analysts, technical staff and third party vendors.
  • Track record of stakeholder management with excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
