Systems Integration Engineer -Our client, a global financial services company, is currently looking for a Systems Integration Engineer who can work closely with development teams, analyze existing server environments, and understand the requirements that new applications may place on server and storage infrastructure based solely on transaction volumes and types.Description:
The Systems Integration Engineer (SI) role is that of an Enterprise Solutions Architect; a senior technologist with 10+ years of operations and engineering experience who can work closely with development teams, analyze existing server environments, and understand the requirements that new applications may place on server and storage infrastructure based solely on transaction volumes and types.
Key tasks:
- Analyze infrastructure requirements and produce detailed design documents including cost estimates which pass internal and external review without changes being requested
- Understand all corporate product offerings and ensure solution designs utilize these products as effectively as possible.
- Work with the provisioning team to ensure infrastructure is built correctly first time
- Assist senior staff in discovery of requirements and infrastructure utilization required for large projects.
Qualifications/competencies
- Thorough knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Strong Knowledge of Windows clustering, Microsoft SQL, and other associated enterprise technologies.
- Knowledge of Oracle, Sybase and MSQL database technologies.
- Knowledge of Middleware (e.g. WebLogic, MQ) useful.
- Symantec VERITAS Storage foundation (VxVM, VxFS, VERITAS Clustering)
- Understanding of SAN technologies and storage replication.
- Experience with hardware server technologies, particularly HP Proliant.
- Thorough knowledge of virtualization technologies particularly VMWare ESX server and VDI.
- Knowledge of capacity planning and performance measurement techniques.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related disciplines is strongly preferred
