Oracle Database Consultant - European Commission - Brussels
For one of our projects at the European Institutions in Brussels, we are urgently looking for an Oracle Database Consultant.
Main tasks:
- Database and application installation, configuration and administration, as well as monitoring and tuning.
- Installation of Windows servers and VMs (e.g. new environments).
- Upgrade of Windows servers, VMs and environments.
- Extension and upgrade of VMs.
- Coordination of physical installations with suppliers.
- Coordination of support with other teams.
- Provide users with the required information.
- Participation in user support, user service and project meetings.
- Follow-up of service quality, monitoring of the services.
- Monitoring of application usage and performance, as well as access management.
- Provide support when needed/ Coordination of database and application support.
For this role you need to have experience in:
- Proven knowledge in support of information systems.
- In-depth knowledge of DBMS administration.
- Good knowledge of Oracle DBMS and of SQL.
- Knowledge of operating systems.
- Ability to cope with the fast changing technologies.
- Able to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communicator.
- Capability of working in an international/ multicultural environment, experience in team working.
- Very good knowledge of Windows, able to install, manage and support physical servers and VMs.
- Good knowledge of backup tools is an asset.
- Rapid self-starting capability and experience in team work.
The next are considered assets:
- Experience in IS support preferably financial information systems.
- Good communication skills both in French and English.
- Experience in the field of accounting and/or financial services.
- Knowledge of ITIL.
- Knowledge of administration of windows based environment (servers and client) and of NetApp.
Languages:
Fluent in English and French is an asset
