Description
My client, in the insurance field, is looking for a Business Analyst, for a contract role.
Responsibilities:
- Gather systems and process requirements through workshops and meetings, analyze to understand and minimize unnecessary variation, document to allow business partners prioritize and verify requirements
- Channel business input to solution design and validate against business objectives, provide input to cost benefit analysis and business case definition
- Ensure solutions are consistent with operational and technology best practice within the company.
- Coordinate and lead business reviews of process and system solution design, development and test phases, including formal review and approvals if necessary
- Prepare and execute business implementation plans including training, user testing and change control management
- Build effective working relationships with business partners and across the project team at all levels to aid effective collaboration and communication
- Integrate with data governance, data quality & data standards pillars to demonstrate an end-to-end synchronized execution of enterprise data strategy
Skills/Competencies Required:
- Excellent communication skills required to ensure high quality of documentation for business requirement and presentations.
- Excellent data analysis skills using SQL, Access, Excel or similar
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- High levels of enthusiasm, commitment, and energy required
- Must be flexible to travel to support business facing project phases (max 25%)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience Required:
- Primary or Secondary degree in a related discipline, eg Business Information Systems
- 4 plus years full life cycle experience in a similar position required
- Prior experience working in data projects
- Prior experience in General Insurance or Financial Services preferable
