My client, a leading Public Sector organisation, is seeking to recruit a Commercial Category Manager to join their team onsite in London or Leeds. As Commercial Category Manager, you will be required to lead and provide commercial direction to a team of procurement professionals to create project specific procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in Public Sector procurement as well as a sound working knowledge of the EU Procurement Regulations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

*To lead and provide commercial direction to a team of procurement professionals to create evidenced-based category wide procurement strategies and project specific procurement strategies to deliver LEAN end to end procurement processes, including ownership of documentation, route to market, evaluations and award processes.
*To develop strong strategic relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities to collaborate, achieve efficiencies, improve capability and promote the procurement profession.
*To comply with Civil Service policies and procedures; this includes ensuring that responses to Freedom of Information Requests and Parliamentary Questions are handled robustly and accurately.
*Develop a commercially focused culture within the team and embed this culture within wider stakeholders.
*To be an active member of the Procurement Team's Management Team, and to work collaboratively to deliver the team's vision and objectives.
*To ensure the procurement team is delivering the Civil Service Reform by developing, managing and monitoring benefits realisation including commercial savings and sustainability outcomes.

Key Knowledge and Skills

*Public sector procurement experience
*Sound working knowledge of the EU procurement regulations
*Achievement of significant efficiencies through procurement
*Experienced procurement manager who has managed a team.
