Senior Design EngineerI'm currently recruiting for an "amazing" company in Huddersfield.
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of a specialist engineers in the gear system.

Essential functions and duties
- Responsible for the Design of products.
- Provide the design by using SolidEdge, in-house spreadsheet.
- Production of 3D models and supporting calculations for the gearbox components
- Supporting Hand calculation for the gearbox components.
- Understand Finite Element Analysis.
- Modify and retool existing products.
- Understand and interpret the customer's requirements.
- Release of developed items in accordance with the company procedures.
- Undertake requirements capture.
- Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management.
Qualifications / Experience
- Degree qualified in Mechanical/ Design/Engineering related subject (preferably at 2.1 Hons or higher);
- HNC and HND accepted
- Minimum 5 years of experience
Person Specification
- Innovative thinker.
- Good CAD knowledge and experience
- Good FEA knowledge.
- Strong hand calculation experience
- Knowledge of real Engineering
- Knowledge of rotary parts, moving equipment.
- Take charge individual with lots of energy and clear sense of urgency.
- Critical thinker with the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems.
- Excellent communicator - verbal, written and presentation.
- Active listener with the ability to apply full attention to what's being said while taking the time to understand the points being made.
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
