I am looking for an experienced Commerical Manager - Credit Cards for a contract opportunity for a retail bank in Edinburgh. This is an urgent position and the client is looking to get someone in ASAP. The daily rate for the role is £450 per day.

Principal accountabilities
  • Deliver significant sales/retention and income targets
  • Design credit card products that meet needs of the clients customer base
  • Financial profitability analysis of alternative product options and product performance
  • Co-ordinate with IT/change & Marketing functions to ensure smooth delivery & high quality customer experience
  • Develop strategies and channels for boosting new sales, or improving activation and retention rates
  • Work closely with Marketing team and other stakeholders to develop new and existing sales channels and/or marketing campaigns at an acceptable or improved cost
  • Ensure performance measures are being monitored effectively with clear & regular MI
  • Optimise product pricing to enhance interest income, NPV and profit pool
  • Influence stakeholder network (including Finance and Risk functions) to ensure proposition profitability is well understood and endorsed
  • Prepare high quality papers and gain approval for proposed strategies and product changes from the Products & Pricing Committee
  • Deputise for Head of Cards where necessary

Skills, knowledge and experience
  • A minimum of five years experience in a commercial or product development role within credit cards
  • Delivery focused, results driven individual
  • Strong understanding of the value of research and understanding customer needs and expectations
  • The ability to operate and influence at senior levels (including internal and external forums) is essential
  • In depth knowledge of credit card market and profitability drivers
  • Experience of launching new products into market and/or development of a broad range of account management strategies
  • Excellent organisational/project management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills & ability to think laterally and strategically
  • Good people skills/team player - at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral
  • Degree educated, preferably in a numerical discipline
