Oracle MIGRATION STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires hands on experience in Storage Administration for Oracle Migration using NetApp's Snap Manager for Migrating Oracle from IBM AIX to NetApp requiring experience in NetApp Core Technologies and in selling the NetApp Value Proposition
  • Ability to provide consulting on NetApp Best Practices in a NAS/SAN environment with NetApp Data OnTap 7mode experience.
  • SMO profiles for all DBs and assist ing DBA's and in SMO backup scheduling/testing - assisting DBAs
  • Protection Manage, including the 5 areas listed in the following:
    1) Snapdrive registration with DFM pending Firewall rules changes;
    2) Configure SnapDrive/Unified Mgr;
    3) Create profiles and test;
    4) Baseline performance analysis;
    5) Update SOP (data protection policies, etc.)

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Will provide storage administration and management tasks, and providing change management, implementations, storage provisioning; PLUS providing storage administration, management tasks, and change management including implementations, and provisioning
  • Will be responsible for capacity planning and management; will provide basic problem management troubleshooting relating to implementation and support and will be responsible for improving company's storage management tools, configuration and integrating storage management into the operations framework
  • Responsible for documenting the environment, recommending storage management best practices and installing upgrades for tools, patches, firmware, storage and monitoring systems; and provide monitoring, diagnostics and replacement of Components and in providing testing and validation PLUS provide testing and validation

OVERVIEW OF: NetApp Migration

  • Implements procedures for initiating migration from IBM AIX to NetApp including start-up and take down of Servers, storage configuration, mounting volume groups and file systems, and verifying data integrity for all Servers and provide load balancing of infrastructure per customer requirements and implementation and configuration of NetApp for Snap Mirror, SMO, Flex Clone and Oracle dNFS per requirements for all EDCAPS environments.
  • Installs and configures Oracle dNFS configuration on remaining hosts connected to NetApp Storage and analyze, plan, test, and provide migration of customer environment to Test, Production and DR using NetApp; PLUS migrating data from AIX, Sun, and Linux Servers to NetApp Storage; Migrating Oracle data using NetApp and leveraging RMAN and in assisting with the setup, configuration, and providing replication of Production to DRF and non-Production environments using NetApp.
  • Provides implementation and configuration of NetApp on all customer Servers plus gather data relevant for the migration project including server and storage information including LUN serial numbers, target LUN information, connect NETAPP STORAGE to all customer Servers PLUS verifying connectivity and functionality and ensure all update, patches, firmware to NetApp Storage, appliances, and Switches are applied to facilitate the migration. Production and DR Servers to allow for the retirement of all current IBM Storage AND Document IBM AIX environment PLUS the NetApp Environment while generating a completion report after the migration service is completed
  • Preerence for candidates living within a commutable distance to Washington DC

LOCATION: WASHINGTON, DC

Hourly Contract Rate: W2 hourly rate

CONTRACT DURATION: 90 days w/90 day potential extension
