My client a leading telecoms company, is in urgent need of a EDI Product Development Manager, this is a three month role, and pay rate of up to €430.00 per day. There is potential for extension.

Role Purpose and Context:

My clients EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) service is a Messaging service that provides for machine-to-machine exchange of business documents (Orders, Invoices, Payment Instructions etc.) The service comprises messaging platform and client software.

The customer base includes key corporate and commercial customers including, major retailers, food and agri-business, key exporters and the financial sector. The service is critical to key customers' business processes. The EDI portfolio comprises a range of network and messaging services, client software and related support and integration services.

A number of elements of the service have been in place for some time and now need to be refreshed.

A development programme has been initiated that will address these needs working in conjunction with key internal and external partners.

Working within the Product team, the EDI Product Development Manager will lead this development on behalf of my clients Business Solutions.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Identify options for the future road-map of the various elements of the EDI portfolio.
  • Evaluate the range of options identified.
  • Develop a business case to support the programme of developments required to implement the product road-map.
  • Develop the set of business requirements for the service to be implemented by my clients Technology function.
  • Engage the Procurement function to select partners and establish contracts for any technology or services required.
  • Work with the Technology function to ensure
    • Technical evaluation of the suitability of the options
    • Implementation of any new systems or technologies
    • Identification of customer impacts
    • Migration of customers to any re-developed service
    • Migration of interconnects to new service
    • Establishment of appropriate management and support regime.
  • Identify any changes required to support services or business processes and work with the Service function to implement these changes.
