Authentic Form & Function is seeking a frontend developer to join their growing and vibrant team. Remote, contract-to-hire, US residents only.
This position is not:
For someone who needs micromanagement
Our work is our creative lifeline, allowing us to live on our own terms without the need for micromanagement by an uptight boss. We expect team members to be accountable for the work they do, aiming to inject passion into their deliverables while inspiring others along the way.
For someone trying to climb the corporate ladder
At this time, we're a lean design and development team. We're able to execute work extremely efficiently and very much take advantage of opportunities that arise from being small. We're based in Denver and Chicago—thus without a "home" office—and encourage working wherever is most comfortable and productive.
For someone with strict areas of expertise
We value process-oriented knowledge, rather than task-oriented knowledge. While we don't expect someone to be a master of everything, we believe designers should be familiar with code, and developers understand design. You will be asked to do work outside your comfort zone, and encouraged to learn and cultivate your skill set into new areas of interest.

- Extremely self-motivated and goal-oriented

- Eager to get dirty in an entrepreneurial environment
- Versed in front and back end development, as well as web hosting and administration. Someone who considers themselves a "full stack developer."
- Being proficient at many of the following, and an understanding of the rest: Modern PHP Development, Laravel, ExpressionEngine, Javascript, Backbone.js, Ruby, Rails, MySQL, Postgres, Sass, Grunt, Bower, Git.
- Understanding design, UI, and UX concepts, and being able to translate these concepts to technical implementations; HTML and CSS.
- Strong personal emphasis on attention to detail (naming conventions, clean design files, working with grids, etc.)
- Strategy and execution for branding initiatives
- Wireframes / user flow experience
- Interaction design background
- Familiarity of modern design trends and styles

- Comfortable sketching ideas, but also confident in Sketch, Photoshop and Illustrator
