Job Description: Site Engineer (French Speaker - EU National only)

I am urgently looking for a French speaker Site Engineer for 1 year project in Brussels (Belgium)

1 Overall purpose
The Site Engineer is responsible for the Quality and Technical follow up of a site in construction included Radio equipment. It consists of Outdoor and Indoor sites.

2 Responsibilities and Authorities
2.1 Roles & Responsibilities
The Site Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to:
• Collect documentation for the Technical Site Survey Report
• take the lead during site visits (Acquisition process) and discuss the technical solution with the parties involved
• During the technical visits in Acquisition, manage the technical solution in such a way that the best cost efficient solution is found.
• Validate of drawings made by the architects based on the technical visit
• Continuously update plan for specific single site
• Lead the Kick off Meetings prior to the site construction
• Create the material list based upon engineering rules
• Control material flow
• Follow up in detail the construction phase with the aim to build the site at the required quality as imposed by Customer KPI’s and SLA’s. In doing so he/she makes sure the site can be accepted first time right.
• He/she helps the subcontractors increasing the quality of the sites
• Collect and control quality of Site Audit Report, Site Acquisition documents, Site Drawings etc., including Execution documents during site building process from subcontractors
• Coordinate and drive Technical Site Surveys
• Control that the site is build according to the Building Permit, Stability and Technical requirements.
• Supervise progress of site building process Site Acquisition, CW Design, CW Construction, Installation & Integration, in timely manner, in order to lead the site to Provisional and Final Acceptance, within the lead time set for each site.

• Solve problems escalated by Subcontractors
• Consult subcontractors of site related requirements
• Control rectification of installation defects
• Inspect work done by subcontractors and create punch list resulting from visit. Make sure the punches are cleared within lead time of SLA’s
• Push subcontractors to deliver his/her sites within the defined lead time and quality
• Collect Site documentation for Acceptance
• Coordinate and drive acceptance Provisional and Final acceptance
• Escalate problems to Project Manager and/or Line Manager
• Continuously provide input for Site Handler through the site building process
• Ensure that the sub-contractors’ installation staff works according to instructions given by Ericsson
• Strictly controls and monitor the Quantities written on the BOQ by the Subcontractor. Make sure the Calculator validates the BOQ within timely manner.

2.2 Authorities
The Site Engineer shall have sufficient authorization rights in the corporate environment to be able to efficiently execute the described role.
• Manage subcontractors
• Manage his sites from Technical Survey to Final Acceptance.
• Contact local authorities

3 Reports to
The Site Engineer reports to the Line Manager and offers his/her service to the Project Manager.
4 Interface to
• Internal: All Functional Units within the project
• External: External authorities: governmental or private, with an impact on the project

5 Required competence
• Ericsson and customer standards and procedures:
• Site Acquisition understanding
• Site Sharing experience
• Excellent Civil Works 2G and 3G installation
• Good Antenna & feeder installation
• Basic BTS and NodeB Installation / Integration
• Excellent Microwave Installation and 2Mbit connection
• Excellent Belgian Safety rules requirements
• Excellent Acceptance leadership
• Document preparation and control
• Excellent Technical knowledge in Power
• Sub-contractor management
• GOF3 Climbing certificate compulsory
• Language: French and English

6 Required education and experience
At least 2 years of experience with turn-key rollout projects, preferably with interaction with outside plant/civil works.
