A superb contract opportunity has arisen to work for a leading automotive tier 1. Successful candidates will have a proven background working at Architect level & will have used SysML and Rhapsody previously.

Systems Architect/Engineer

The Role

You will work at the upper levels of the development cycle, capturing customer functional, manufacturing, safety, and legislative requirements; performing system architectural design activities to ensure compliance with your requirements.

What you'll do

- Assist with the generation and decomposition of Electric Power System architecture using SysML according to the established architectural framework
- Assist with requirements elicitation and decomposition, ensuring traceability through the system architecture
- Carry out reviews with internal stakeholders to ensure completion of compliance matrices at sub-system level and flow-up into the system requirements and architecture
- Generation of external and internal system interface definition documents
- Support review and rationalisation of SysML architecture
- Support the generation of system design documents and requirements, and work closely with subsystem design teams to come to an agreed design
- Assist with the generation of high-level use cases, test cases and test procedures
- Carry out reviews with internal stakeholders to ensure adequate test coverage at all levels
- Evaluate and implement product change requests and problem reports from internal and external sources
- Support dFMEA and other safety analyses both at a system level and ensuring continuity at a sub-system level

What we are looking for

Essential:
- 2.1 or better degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (preferably SysML)
- Experience within Electronic/Mechanical/Control systems engineering
- Rigorous and positive approach to issue resolution
- Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently
- Knowledge of a range of engineering disciplines

Desirable:
- Knowledge of Electronic/Electrical Automotive systems
- Knowledge of design for safety critical systems
- Knowledge of requirements management tools such as DOORS
- Experience with PTC Integrity and IBM Rational Rhapsody software tools
